Cylvia Hayes, First Lady of Oregon presented the Governor’s Award for Strategic Energy Management Practices on January 18, 2012.

Bret Griffin, Willamina Division Plant Manager, accepted the award. The company worked with Energy Trust of Oregon's Industrial Energy Improvment Initiative. The resulting energy savings was resulted in over 11% electrical energy intensity improvement.

On December 7, 2011 Hampton Affiliates was recognized as one of Oregon’s Most Admired Companies by Oregon State University’s, College of Business.

The Portland Business Journal conducted a phone survey of CEOs across Oregon and asked their opinions on the greatest companies in Oregon. The results were announced December 7, 2011 in Portland, Oregon.

Hampton was listed in the Agriculture & Forest Products category. In total, 83 companies were selected in various categories to receive this award.

John Hampton (1926-2006) was a man whose energy and passion for the lumber industry and its people shaped the culture at Hampton Affiliates. His legacy lives on in the policies and philisophies that are part of Hampton today. In his lifetime, he received numerous awards. These are a few he treasured most:

  • 1993 Man of the Year Award, Timber Processing Magazine
  • 1993 Man of the Year Award, Portland Wholesale Lumber Assn.
  • 1994 John J. Mulrooney Memorial Award, North American Wholesale Lumber Association
  • 2004 Oregon Ethics in Business Award, Individual Category- Samaritan Counseling Center/Willamette University-Atkinson Graduate School of Management
